Rocketfish Games has been awarded €8 million from the German government’s newly-expanded €125 million games fund to support the development of the next game in the Everspace shooter franchise. Launched in 2020, the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR) funding program offers grants covering up to 50% of game production and prototype development costs. Grants range from €300,000 to €8 million per project, depending on size.
